Hellifield Village Plan Group

Village meeting Thursday 11th February 2010 7.30 pm Hellifield Social Club
The way forward for the village plan
The group would like to review the way forward now that it is over two years since the plan was published and by the time of the next Parish Council village AGM (25th March), the remaining members of the group will have been working on the project for four years.
We are keen to see the plan kept live and be the focus of village development, but we are not sure that there is a role for the group as it stands at present beyond our present meeting cycle which runs to April 2010. The election of a new Parish Council in 2010 may also make a change of approach appropriate.
The plan has proved a useful tool to date for:
a.Increasing involvement and interest in village developments
b.As evidence for need to support significant grant funding drawn into the village by groups including the Institute, the Parish Council and the Wesley Centre
c.Providing the impetus for new village managed initiatives
d.As evidence for other agencies
A number of key issues emerge:
a.How do we keep the plan alive and moving forward?
b.How do we maintain village interest and involvement?
c.What elements of the plan can be managed by the Parish Council and volunteers?
d.What elements of the plan need the Parish Council and others to lobby CDC, NYCC etc.?
Please come along to the meeting, share your ideas and suggest ways forward. The plan is about your village, its success needs your support.
